EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
To establish Teachers College policy and procedure in relation to applicant selection and equal opportunity.
This policy applies to all employees.
The interpretation of this policy and administration of programs which support this policy shall be the responsibility of the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources. The interpretation and administration for monitoring the equal employment opportunity recruitment of professorial staff and instructional staff shall be the responsibility of the Provost.
Teachers College has long been committed to equal employment in the recruitment and selection of candidates, and to providing equal employment opportunities to employees within our organization. This supports and promotes a community environment in which such rights can be fully exercised by all, regardless of race, color, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity or gender expression), religion, creed, national origin, age, citizenship, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
Teachers College is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to otherwise qualified individuals with disabilities, which include providing reasonable accommodations.
Any employee who believes that he or she has been denied equal opportunity should contact the Office of Human Resources, which will review the matter and provide information relating to equal opportunity and applicable complaint procedures. Individuals may also contact the office of the Vice President for Diversity and Community Affairs or the Ombudsperson.
